China's Trade Surplus Falls - But January Numbers Here Are Often A Bit Odd

So, really, the correct answer here is that until we see at least the February numbers, and possibly the March ones, we'll not be able to say anything terribly useful by looking at Chinese trade and other economic statistics. Sad but true, that's just how the calendar works.
