Amazon's Shipping Ambitions Are Larger Than It's Letting On

While Amazon has downplayed reports of plane leasing and an ocean freight booking business as simple supplements to FedEx and UPS, during peak shopping seasons, internal documents have surfaced detailing an aggressive plan to disintermediate not only shippers, but also the thousands of middlemen handling paperwork and cargo for transnational trade. The aim: lower costs and one-click, seamless shipping services for partner merchants.
